  1. A sleeved motor is overkill for 350, at least according to my wallet. I'm guessing sleeves would add about $1000 to the cost. That's roughly the cost of going closed deck for the sake of comparison. You'd be hard pressed to find anybody who would drop an additional grand on a motor when you're only making 350. I think even conservative builders would consider sleeves or closed deck not appropriate until you're at 450-500 on the low end.
  2. My cousin runs a small cerakote business. He mainly does firearms, but we decided to give my engine cover and charge pipe a go. The stuff is crazy durable and is pretty awesome. We just finished a little while ago. I am pretty pleased with the results and can't wait to get it installed.

I'm guessing he used one of their firearm coatings. Do their firearm coatings have heat dissipating properties?

I don't think they have anything other than their ceramic exhaust coatings for automotive applications. Not ideal for a charge pipe as it would insulate and keep heat trapped in.

  3. I just talked to Vibrant and they recommended stepping down to the 1794 12" resonator. He said the race mufflers would not control drone at all; they have no packing just some stainless mesh to provide racers a solution if a track requires a "muffler".

They are currently developing a new tunable resonator that they hope to release by the end of the year.

  4. Exhaust is milder than expected. But when the wastegate cracks open . Pedestrians and bicyclists beware!

It has an 18" Vibrant bottle style resonator. I wonder how much it would change going down to their 12" piece. I don't think losing the resonator all together is an option as I don't want any drone at highway cruising speeds. 5th gear cruising RPMs are 3.25-4k so maybe that would be out of intolerable drone range.

I'll try to snap some pics of a few things later today.
