New to me (Used) cleaned up, Top Feed fuel lines and Blue top feed injectors attached to the ported TGV's in their new home with new OEM gaskets. I cut off the alignment rails on the sides of the blue top-feed injectors and reused the factory side feed plugs. They clipped right in after the mod sweet! Thanks Marvick08GT!
Also, I ordered a new turbo inlet (Cobb) but it looks like they are on backorder

So, I was putting some more of the factory hoses on today and I realized that I have replaced almost all of them. I also realized how much money I forked over for OEM and how destroyed most of them were. Now I’m trying to figure out a way to protect them from the heat, especially the ones that hang out by the turbo. I’m reinstalling all of the factory heat shields and such but does anyone have any ideas how I might increase the longevity of these hoses?

Well, a friend of mine is a Suby tuner and when I was going with a new factory shortblock he told me to get the nitrided crank. Specifically he told me to buy this one: https://www.flatironstuning.com/subaru-oem-shortblock-w-heat-treated-crankshaft-09-sti-ej257

Good god man! Spun a Rod bearing already? Sounds like maybe the machine shop cocked something up... or worse you have some silicone from either the oil pump or the block halves blocking an oil passage somewhere.

Sorry to raise this thread from the dead but I need a hand. I picked up some stock top feed TGV’s with fuel lines and injectors. I see that I have a fuel pressure regulator on the strut tower. So do I eliminate this and keep the one on the 2008 legacy GT fuel rails? And if that’s the case how are you eliminating it?

I must be a masochist because I just keep coming back for more lol....
Masochism, it’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.
If it makes you feel any better I swore off Subaru’s somewhere in the 5-8yr ago range. (The time flies by so fast now) I’m back.

Man, you’re just not having any luck at all...

Yep I was in the car trying to extricate the driver when the car burst into flames. It was not ideal. I will never forget the sound or the heat.
-
If the turbo didn't explode you don't need to replace all that. Again see my build thread to see what that rabbit hole looks like.

Yeah, it's not a guarantee an extinguisher or suppression system will save the car, but I'd rather try then just let it burn down. It's like this fire here (fire starts at ~1:00):Tons of extinguishers, but fuel line and then fuel tank caught on fire and there was no stopping it. Couple of my friends are friends with Rudy.
I just want a chance. If I can catch it when it's smoldering or before it gets to fuel I might be able to save the car. A $400 suppression system is well worth it to me.
I am fan of really good insurance.

Was the hood close or open?
Open hood, douse engine close hood. It was a pretty solid accident and it was a ruptured fuel line that started it.

Swap everything over to a US spec legacy. DO NOT drive it with different plates. The police frown on that pretty heavily when they catch you.

I emptied a 6 pack of fire extinguishers into an engine bay one day after a nasty car accident and nothing short of a firetruck put a dent in that blaze.

Yeah my interior is pretty melted across the board

That’s pretty badass.

Hicksta , not Hickson.
My phone can't autocorrect for sh!t, but it gets Hicksta right in 3 letters. Guess it knows something I don't...
That’s funny I typed it half a dozen times fighting autocorrect and it looks like autocorrect won.

Did they solve your trans issues?

Now that I have read 10 pages of this thread I need to see some links to some of these Hickson disasters...

So I'm poking around on heatsheildproducts.com and they have a number of different solutions for protection of the hoses
. Being a novice on the topic which of them have you used or recommend.
