I got a complete front end. Ballast and bulbs are still there and I even have all connectors (male and female)
So I guess wiring will be pretty easy !
did you source connectors from somewhere or used connectors that came with headlights?

Pink?! Awww, c'mon man, don't give these haters any more ammo! Red L7 badges... to match the Brembos going on in the spring! Your's looked real nice too, but couldn't hear it over my Invidia and the Hip Hop BBQ from Pandora!
What's wrong with pink badges and 5th gen?
:lol::lol::lol:

I see, yeah, that wasn't too smart on buyer's side.

I had a Russian order a while back, so I blocked international orders. Unfortunately that affects you good Canadian folk as well... I just unblocked international again so you should be able to order now.
Is it shipping cost or something else? I sold parts to few guys in Russia, Paypal worked fine

Great, thanks. You are the only JDM HID convert alive on this forum I guess Another question is about powering them - do you run through dedicated relay harness or direct plug into OEM harness? I compared USDM and JDM wiring and they are both relayed but silly SOA saved a penny per car and put tiny 18 AWG wires with common ground for low and high beams on USDM headlight harness while JDM tails are 14AWG with dedicated ground wires. Stock JDM HID ballasts can draw as much as 15AMP at startup so I am somewhat hesitant to use USDM stock wiring; however, if others run them without any issues the adaptor harness can be made quite compact to use stock relay.

wow, wish I saw this thread before. Thanks for details! Quick question about the resistors for turn bulbs - did you need to add them because of fast blinking?
-
JDM OEM HID converts, do you run your JDM harness straight from USDM headlight harness or do you use additional harness with separate relay? Comparing USDM and JDM wiring I see that both OEM are in fact relayed and should be a straight plug in with proper connectors. DRL is unplugged to I am not worried about that at this point.

Yesterday morning - Black LGT wagon behind me on Rt 102 for quarter mile. RI Veteran plates, younger guy behind the wheel? You went off to on-ramp after we exchanged waves. Nice wagon!
I looked as this wagon was pulling up the ramp and I have to say again - 4th gen Legacy wagons are pure sex. This car is simply beautiful.

Clean RBP 5th gen GT pulling out from liquor store next to whole Foods in Cranston. You waved and I waived back. Nice car!!!

Ordered two, Thanks!!!

Thank you for great post, mine started making noise after temperature dropped below 30.

I wish I had thought of this...I accidentally ripped one of the pads off the circuit board when I desoldered the original MOSFET and now have nowhere to attach the new one.
Hi-Res pics sent! Hope they will help.

I didn't forget about high-res pics for you, just didn't get to main PC where I have them....

Fixed my dome light!
Interesting fact -- you don't have to desolder the original MOSFET. Just solder wires onto each of the pins going into the PCB, and then another wire onto the metal part on the back of the MOSFET (closest to the pins for the harness connectors).
It'd be great if you could attach any pics so other can do the same. And fill us in on your illumination project!!!

The job to replace the O-ring is not hard at all. O-rings can be had from the dealer , I used matching Toyota part that I got for free.
In your case however if you are saying there is no noise I do not think it is the O-ring. I think I had similar issue years ago on my Camry, where steering would be heavy for some time and then loosen up until the next morning. I ended up flushing the old power steering fluid and it helped. I would try that in your case, and if you can, get that belt replaced as well, it is time to do it on 07 anyway.
You can syphon some steering fluid right from the reservoir and add fresh one(Dextron III or IV from any parts store is fine). Drive the car then come back and syphon/replace again. Do it few times and you should refresh the fluid enough. This works if you do not want to go to the dealer.
-
is it foaming from the reservoir? does it make any noise when you turn the wheels? did you change the power steering belt at recommended interval? Did you change the power steering fluid as well?
All of the above would be good to know to pinpoint to the issue. Typically cold weather and power steering on Subarus is due to old O-ring at the power steering pump but tat is usually accompanied by some noise.
I haven't heard of fluid "thickenning" in cold weather to the point of being trouble, unless it's original from the 07 and is full of water. I would bet on O-ring in this case.

Bumping this old thread. I just received pair of JDM HID lights and now need to figure out how to flip the shields and convert the wiring, both for main harnesss and levelling harness. This thread talks mainly about the leveling motor harness, any info on the main harness conenctors type? I'd like to do a clean install and fabricate harness for both sides.
-
Funny enough the only times I was reported spotted were when I was hauling crap from HD on roof racks (plywood, 2x4s, etc) )

Try that in a sedan. Still need a new chrome sill plate from a strap around a box that got caught under it and bent it to hell.
There is a wagon being parted out if full part out vehicles thread. That piece may still be available.

Tonight I drove with clean looking 07-09 NA SWP Legacy sedan with CT plates down I-95S. You caught up with me north of Providence, I went of exit 5 to Richmond woods some 30 mins later. HIDs, tinted, otherwise looked stock. I was in my son's 05 OB.
Looks like I have a soft spot for SWP Legacies.
