  1. OK, I'll try to be clearer. Whatever 6MT you use, STi or Sec.B, you need to match the rear end gear ratio with the final drive ratio of the tranny your using. Here some ways to do that, 1) find another R160 rear end with the right gear ratio & reuse your stock half shafts. 2) re-gear your R160 to the right gear ratio reuse your stock half shafts. 3) Get a R180 from STi or 07 & ^ spec.B with the right gear ratio & 07 ^ spec.B rear half shafts. Does this help, Mike
  2. Option #1: Transmission Choice: 2007+ LGT Spec B 6MT, 2004, 2005 STI 6MT Rear Differential Choice: 2007+ LGT Spec B R180, 2004+ STI R180, <2004 Legacy or you can use a regeared stock R160 as well with stock LGT rear axles Axles: Front - Stock LGT, Rear - 2007+ Spec B or custom Driveshaft Shop Axles Or fine a 3:90 geared WRX R160 rear end. For shifting linkage more centered in the console, 2 option; 07 Spec.B 6MT shifting linkage or lengthen both STi 6MT shifting rod by 3/8". Like I done. Mike
  3. Stock clutch don't know, I guess around 400-450max. Tranny IMO 550 to the wheels.
  4. Don't remember, it's the strongest tranny Subaru makes. In all my research it's the only thing people making 415whp up to 530 whp they didn't change other then the clutch. [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvyFbcZH-mU[/ame] [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYgg_kE1VmM[/ame]
  5. If I remember right. The STi 6MT is rated around 550ft.lbs. of torque. Mike
  6. DCCD controller, What I used, My DCCD controller ” Spiider’s” Auto DCCD controller http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0904071237_edited.jpg http://dccdpro.com/?page_id=5
  7. That's great to hear Now I know that my occasional CEL, P0851 is do to having two NSS switches. Thanks groff, Mike
  8. Yes, 6MT NSS in the tranny & the 5MT NSS wired in outside the tranny. [tranny{6mt, NSS}]======(5mt NSS)======<ECU> Dose that help:lol: Best I can do with the key boad:) Mike
  9. ^^^^ No, the 6MT NSS still interrupts the circuit. Sense I was the 1st to do the swap. Didn't know the 6MT's is the"reverse" of the 5MT NSS. Until I found out that the cruise control would only set in Neutral. So I collapse the 5MT NSS, wired it between the 6MT's NSS & wire harness it works good. I will try the 5MT NSS alone when get a chance in the next mo. or so. Just very busy. Mike
  10. Yes you need to use the OEM natural safety switch,[NSS] out of the 5MT, for the cruise control to work. Like Unclemat said, "But the 6MT's neutral is... "reversed". When the tranny is in neutral ecu thinks is in in gear and vice versa." My occasional CEL, P0851 IMO is do that I still have the 6MT's NSS in the 6MT. But I wired in the 5MT NSS in between the 6MT's NSS & wire harness. The 6MT NSS is locatated on top by the tail shaft. I wanted to test it 1st, before I drop the 6MT part way down to install it in the case.Wiring in the 5MT's NSS and my cruise works. I still running the NSS's this way. Haven't got around to installing the 5MT's NSS in the 6MT's case yet. I use the 6MT's reverse switch with no problems. Mike
  11. Speed sensor are in the front wheel hub assembly area. When I swap in my 05 STi 6MT in my 05 GT. There was only 6 wires to hook-up from the 6MT, 2 for NSS (Neutral Safety Switch), 2 for the Backup lights & 2 from the DCCD. Side note, you need to use the 5MT's Neutral Safety Switch (NSS). For your cruise control to work. Mike
  12. Dealer, around $300 + ea. My R160 is still holding up, so still waiting to score a pair at my local junk yard that deals with 9yrs. old cars & newer. Mike
  13. Edited of clarity, I guess I got stop assuming people will read the all the threads & do there own research MIke
  14. Get WRX R160 rear end that matching for 6MT. That way you can use the gt's stock rear half shafts. Use drive shaft out of 05 A\T legacy or new 4EAT. This will substantially cheaper. The DCCD controller I used. Is only a 5 wire hook-up. Mike
  15. Yes, but New 07 spec. b drive shaft is over $650.00, half shafts are over $300 ea. The spec. b 6MT has no DCCD & front LSD. IMO if you going to send this kind of money. You want all the goodies. Mike
  16. Yes, WRX R160 will work, just make sure you have matching gears with your 6MT. It's what I'm running in my swap for over 43k. IMO with that much HP. I would go with a STi R180, 07 or later Spec. B rear half shafts & the drive shaft flange off your old R160 rear diff. Mike
  17. 05 STi 6MT front half shaft seals: Old# L\H 806735240 New# L\H 806735290 Old# R/H 806735230 New# R/H 806735300 And why'll you're there: Tail shaft seal 806735210 Mike
  18. You also have to pop out the 04 stub shafts & seals. Replace seals with 05 front seals. There is a right & left side seal. Mike
  19. Hay you learn something new everyday. Mike
  20. On a A/T cars, the ECU controls the engine, tranny & ABS. On MT cars the ECU controls only the engine & ABS. Air bags have there own computer. Because the A/T ECU would be looking for input from the A/T. When it does get any. It would go into limp mode. Limiting timing & boost. Mike
  21. Not that I know of. But you'll need a ECU out of MT car for the yr. Legacy you're installing the 6MT in. That will take care of you ABS. The air bags have their own computer. So all will be good.
