  1. I feel a Hexmods sponsorship deal in the making for the upcoming Wintercross Series . Just kidding. I don't see a local market for 5EAT mods at the track as I'm the only auto subie racing let alone the only other auto in the series is a GTi of 50 cars total. Love my tranny now, thanks ClimberD for your efforts and knowledge!
  2. I still prefer manual when decelerating so I can exit a corner in my prefered gear. However, I did test Sport yesterday, for the first time in a year. Performed very well.
  3. ClimberD: you have a killer product on your hands! I love it! My tranny performed perfectly yesterday at Miller Motorsports Park, Full track for the IRPCA HPDE season finale. Both manual and auto modes were flawless.......... for 1 1/2 very spirited laps, chasing down a spankin-new Porsche GT3 RS in the corners before he dropped me like a hot rock on the front straight. ( I caught him 2 corners later ! This was all before my BNR 16G took a dump on me and gave out after 2,200 miles. 1 1/2 laps into a 4x40 minute session day at the track. Bummer! Its already in a box and on its way to BNR for warranty exchange. ClimberD: You've got a killer product and my tranny is amazing compared to last year's track results and experience. Thank you!
  4. So glad you posted this. What PSI are you running your hta at on the e85 tune? Considering going to an e85 tune for my 16G with similar supporting mods you have listed. How many miles on your tranny?
  5. let me know what a core gets for cash. I have an '06 tranny just sitting around and not much need for the spare VB that sits within.
  6. Bump for a fantastic product and service from ClimberD! I love the super fast, smooth shifts!
  7. Don't get any on you, (valve body holds a bunch more ATF after you've dropped the pan). Have at least 6 quarts on hand for refill. Take your time with your new gasket maker, don't want any leaks and have to drop pan again and waste all your ATF. Don't over torque your pan bolts, (soft aluminum in there). Keep checking your ATF after you've got it all back together. Took a long time (probably 10 top-offs) to get it back to full Hot after several test drives and dipstick checks. Give approx 100 miles to settle in, learn to shift. It'll be great right off the bat, 4-5th shift at low throttle position and coasting took the longest to settle down for me.
  8. 187 miles so far with matching tranny and ClimberD modded valve body and this thing gets smoother and smoother. Even running it at 20PSI and smooth as butter! Thank you ClimberD. Fantastic product and service!
  9. Amen, ClimberD! I'm 8K into my motor, turbo and supporting fuel mods since May 21 and still doesn't run right! Tranny shift and leak issues should be a thing of the past by tomorrow night, then can button up the tune for new motor, turbo and fuel upgrades and then maybe................................ it'll run right?????
  10. http://www.car-part.com Search for 2008 Subaru Legacy then : "transmission" Then: A.T., 2.5L (4 cyl), exc. Outback; turbo They currently show 3 available, one in PA, 2 in NY. $1065 up to $1500 with 15K mileage.
  11. I was told by my dealer that the VB wasn't available separately. Then again, they couldn't quite tell me the internal differences from the '05 5EAT to the '06 5EAT other than part numbers were different. Gear ratios same, part numbers different??? Thank you MSprank for volunteering your discount to further this development.
  12. ClimberD: 06 tranny that came back from tuning of 16G install and didn't want to shift in auto mode without revving to 7500rpm. It would shift fine in manual mode and hold gears once the shift was complete. Will your VB mod increase line pressure sufficiently to get it to shift and hold in auto mode?
  13. Gotta say that ClimberD is the MAN! Super fast turn around and extremely dedicated to customer service and satisfaction for delivery options. I'll know how this shifts once the car is back together sometime mid-week. Waiting on motor to come back from Machinist and Stage IV build. Motor failed initial testing last night before leaving machine shop and has to wait for Tuesday to adjust valve lash before they'll release it to me for install. I hate waiting! Climber D had my VB turned around in less than 24 hours to beat the machinist and motor work. He definitely met my super tight deadline and would've been perfect if motor had passed its part. Thanks ClimberD!
  14. Your PM has been replied with an email to include tracking info and return shipping instructions. Thanks for the fast turn around. Can't wait to be back on the road again, so very soon!
  15. ClimberD: You'll be receiving my VB tomorrow before noon via USPS. I've included an overnight return shipping label and payment in the box, with tons of insurance. Hope you're in town this weekend??? And, would you PM me your email address so I can forward the tracking info to you??? Thanks. doc
  16. CD: valve body has been removed and is sitting in the parts cleaner overnight to finish draining. I can have it to you as soon as Thursday unless you're not prepared to do a VB mod with the holiday weekend approaching. My long block will be prepped to install on Tuesday and tune on Wednesday. I'm looking at USPS overnight options for both ways if possible. Is your listed shipping address good for USPS or is FedEx better? Thanks.
  17. And for those of us that'll do this when the tranny is out of the car?
  18. ClimberD, You've got a PM from me on a valve body job for you.
  19. 06 5EAT No mods to tranny other than Tru-Cool and Amsoil drain fill twice after 2 Subie trans services for 30K and 60K. Subscribed for ability to go to Stage III power. Currently at stage 2.9+++ (Turbo and fuel upgrades are next)
  20. so, what has been diagnosed in my car as a wastegate flutter might actually be BPV flutter? Stock BPV and stock wastegate in my Perrin TMIC, Gimmick afta maf and inlet tube, CoBB lite pulley, COBB UP, CNT catted DP to X02 exhaust, K&N panel filter all on stock VF-40. 19psi tune. ** By the way, ran zero re-circ for a week on my 5EAT and it was an utter disaster at anything other than full throttle. So much stutter it was crazy at partial throttle and a huge jerking motion when letting off the throttle. That's what I get for destroying the re-circ hose when I installed the new turbo inlet tube.** Summary: do I need an AVO 15psi solid boost actuator to solve current stutter or an upgraded BPV? Or both? Thanks.
