  1. Which one of you "Aussies" has "throttlehappy" email address? Has he tuned either of your cars and your 5EAT's?
  2. So Kouki, are you the vendor now, or is ClimberD? It seems that much of the info thrown around here is hypothetical and possibilities rather than an available product for purchase that has been thoroughly tested.
  3. I really want to know what R&D have been done on your over-haul options. What power levels have been tested? Inquiring minds want to know.
  4. ^^ Had you recently changed a mod on the car, or flashed a new tune to the car? Every time a change has been made with parts on the car, or a change to a tune I've needed a couple of hundred miles for the 5EAT to learn how to shift. Next question: how old is your tranny fluid?
  5. Very interested in the final product for the 05-06 s402 looking grill.
  6. Pads and rotors: $$ Trans repair/replace: priceless Not a helpful post other than to make you lose sleep at night, but been there, done that. I just did a preventative 10K pan drain/ fill after trans was slipping the shift from 3-4th upshift. It ended up being related to the very awkward tune limiting for my new motor break-in. Tranny figured out how to shift after 2 days of ** more spirited driving than completely out of boost for initial 200 miles motor break in. Now, 600 miles later of very limited tune (max 5,500 rpms, 19psi boost) it'll now shift without a slip. Hope your car is TCU adapting to your engine braking and nothing more... Hope so.
  7. ^^ when I was losing fuel pressure at WOT it was o-rings in the fuel basket. Glad you found the source of trouble for your af/r's and hope it stays great from now on!
  8. Every time I've upgraded the car requiring a new tune, it always takes a few days for the tranny to learn how to shift, again. IMO the tranny is always learning.
  9. How much time are you giving your tranny to learn the tune/flash? It takes 100-200 miles for the 5EAT to learn the VBmod that Hexmods is doing. (unless that learning curve has changed since I installed mine?)
  10. subscribed for drop-in clutch packs for the 5EAT's
  11. ^^ Magic fairy dust that makes the shifts so fast and sharp you'll giggle like a little girl! Just think "Shift kit" for your car.
  12. I had dropping fuel pressure troubles like you described. WOT on the dyno and pressure would drop, car would run lean. All voltage tests indicated in this thread never showed voltage drop from FPCM to the pump. Put a bunch of diagnostic money down the drain. It was determined that I had faulty o-rings in the fuel basket. Once that was remedied, fuel pressure was great at WOT. DW300. My walbro didn't survive after 2 months on E85. Still subscribed for future reference.
  13. I feel that my shifts happen more quickly now than without the VB mod. Software delay or not, I believe the actual shift happens faster than ever. Seems to me the mechanics happen more quickly, rather than hanging in between shifts, software delay or not.
  14. When my new tranny was installed, torque converter had also been drained for the most part. We would fill to the level on the dipstick and then go for a test drive. It would not shift gears and then dipstick would show low again. Had to top off the tranny fluid 10 times before it really showed full. So, in my case I had to be very careful at first. Any signs of poor shifting after a tranny service, or in your case a leak, watch the fluid levels very closely. After running through the gears, likely your fluid levels will need to be topped off. Typically after a tranny pan drain/fill I'd be between 3-4 quarts to get it topped off again. But every leak/service will be different. Best of luck!
  15. What kind of service? drain and fill of the pan? drop the pan, or pulled the entire tranny for full service?
  16. Impact for axle nut and air chisel to knock the hub loose from the knuckle were priceless. Had the hardest time with the 17mm bolts for the brake bracket until I used my 17mm open end wrench and a mallett to knock them loose. This walkthrough is great! All said and done I was 2 hours fiddling with the brake bracket bolts, straightening out my rotor dust cover after the air chisel and threading all 4 bolts back in to the hub. Twice I had 3 in and 4th wouldn't start. If I would've gone with the new $20 dust cover I would've been done much earlier!
  17. Thank you for sharing your experience. Did you use OE for all or did you source them elsewhere?
  18. Is there any truth to the rumor that these bearings ought to be changed in pairs? And, has anybody had experience with using these from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-WHEEL-HUB-AND-BEARING-ASSEMBLY-UNIT-FITS-SUBARU-LEGACY-OUTBACK-FRONT-/180971396230?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2006|Make%3ASubaru|Model%3ALegacy&vxp=mtr&hash=item2a22bc5c86
