  1. I'd have to change my vote. Since I've switched to ContiExtreme 215/50/17 for the winter, my mileage has dropped from what I was getting with OEM (and winter gas).

    Getting 25.8 after 1200 or miles. 26.7 after 6000.

    Bumping for more data.

  2. What orange stuff?

You are aware that color doesn't have any significance when it come to antifreeze these days, aren't you?

For example, the color of Peak Global was chosen because it won't change the color of existing antifreeze when topping off. They did this to stop customers from freaking out and calling up saying, "I added Peak Global and it changed the color of my antifreeze, what's wrong?"

Havoline orange. Nissan used to reccomend their own special AF as well. The problem use that their stuff (green) was crap designed only to get the car through warranty. It's been a while since I emmersed myself in AF DD.

  3. Bumping for more data.

Drove hard today and mpg for the last 1000ish miles dropped to 25.8.

Wind makes a huge difference in mileage. Very windy in these parts today. Wind can affect my mpg +/- 5 mpg from median @ 70-75 mph. Crosswinds decrease mpg significantly.

  4. The traffic in Chicago was a friggin' mess tonight. I used the NAV to find new surface street short cuts for 30 miles and still ended up with the Spec. parked back in my garge with 26.1 mpg displaying on the info system after a total trip of 100 miles.
  5. 20-22 mpg has jumped into the lead.

My mpg has been decreasing lately which I put down to my new A/S tires and being forced to take more surface streets due to tollway construction delays. Long term mileage has slipped from 27.0 to 26.7 and my two tankful average is barely hanging on to 26.1.

  6. I've datalogged and sent them to TDC, and had other people look at them they appear normal so i dont think so^^ I dont think my car could be running so well if there was engine mgt issues? I still get 24-26 on the highway....its probably from my strict all city driving and short trips.

The LGT does use alot of gas until it's fully warmed up. Still, your average mpg is very low but hwy seems normal.

  7. 5eat.....but cruise around from 1500-2500

The poll results show that you have something fundamentally amiss with your engine management sytem. Take your LGT to the back to the dealer and get it checked out.

One more question that might not matter a wit, do you steady state cruise or is your foot constantly probing the accellerator?

  8. am i the only one averaging 14-15 in the city?

    Looks like it.

What are your driving habits? Do you like to drive quickly from light to light? How many times do you surpass 4k rpm during a typical drive? When you're doing a steadyish 40 mph, what gear are you using?

  9. my car averages around 30 per gallon. I get 32 mpg on the highway at about 72mph and I average high 20s in the city as long as I don't have to give it alot of gas. The big turbo helps out alot... I told the wife it was a gas saving mod....

Perhaps your bigger turbo takes longer to spool which means that you are not running much boost during normal putzing/cruising around.

  10. getting 22-23 mpg with 13-mile one-way stop-n-go traffic into downtown LA and then back, and do "posted speed" on fwy :D, currently COBB stage 2....oh I got a snail under the hood.

What size tires and what psi do you run them at? What type of oils? Use turbo boost a lot?

    - bumping to increase sample size.

  11. I put my real gas mpg down too, but of late, I have been doing heavy freeway driving and have been getting close to 22 .. (computer is showing like 23.4-23.7). I am running stage 2 as well.

Polls are tricky to set up. However, if enough members respond the OEM and actual mpg should average out.

The results are interesting so far.

  12. OEM trip computer gives about 22 MPG which is 12% higher than actual ~19.5 MPG. I do 90% city and my commute is 5 miles to work. Car barely warms up. Just murder for mileage. But hey I can't complain, I can't finish a cup of coffee getting to the office.

My mileage suffers until I have ~7-10 miles on the drive train using Mobil 1 5/30 and OEM fluids for the rest. Going to go total synth. sooner than later.
