  1. To replace rotors it's necessary to back the cog off the rotor so you can get the rotor off. Other than that, the cog should auto adjust, just do some hard reversing and stop. each stop should tighten the parking brake a lil bit. Or at least thats what it tells you to do in the repair manual... And you should NEVER use the handbrake to stop a moving car, use the pedal in the middle (or left peddle for the AETs). Locking the rear wheels in an AWD = bad news bears.
  2. I just pulled my stock head unit out. I may try dissecting it... i'll let you know what I find.
  3. Depends on what they claim. If they put that lil "results not typical, individual results may vary" thing in there, for most stuff they would be ok. It is sad that in the heat of high gas prices people will believe almost anything. I mean, we still have people that think they can take a pill / cream to enlarge certain parts of their bodies. But they are talking all "technical" it must be true! Also some shady mechanics (not shade tree) have been doing this for years (headlight fluid, second transmission for reverse.....)
  4. Wow my materials science teacher would murder you for that abuse of material science, but it's funny none the less. :-D stick it up on ebay!
  5. Hey, someone's dumb enough to buy it.... and there's someone making money off of it... But they are still asses. http://www.globalautoshop.com/images/performance/electric_superchager/B&B_Performance_Line_Electric_Supercharger2.jpg Case in point ^

  10. I would plan to replace the tensioner too, we didn't do that @ 70,000 on mine, and it sheared off around 140k......
  11. Porchse rotors are cast like that, not drilled, so there's no extra stress added to the rotor. However, you will still have stress concentrations, but thats just the engineer in me talking.
  12. Hey everyone, I'll be up in Mears Michigan for 3 weeks. anyone in the area (Silver Lake, Shelby and so on...)
  13. Would have been funnier if it had then flooded...

  16. Any advice for breaking 200,000? Im almost there. Anything big I have to worry about?
  17. KYB makes some good stuff, find em over on tirerack. Also wanted to add a triva fact for those with BG N/A Legs. You can use the REAR sway from the turbo'ed leg, the FRONT will not fit due to the turbo model having a diff sub frame. Cusco, whiteline along with Cobb (used to) make swaybar kits for the turbo model. I'll vouch that the REAR fits in no problems on my car (Cusco 3 pos. adjutable)
  18. Thanks for this, made my life easy, now I can change my AC in the dark!! YEah!!! :-D
  19. I've been running 87 in my NA engine since it's purchase. I'm not sure about the turboed motors though.....
