  1. I think I'll pass and keep my '06 LGT, 5MT running until I can't get parts. With 130K on the clock it has a lot of life left in it. With the COBB Stg 2 mods, AP V3, SPT catback, suspension upgrades, new Southbend stg 3 daily clutch and COBB's double adjustable short shifter w/front and ear shifter bushings, I am loving it. Kinda' loud and raw, but I like it that way.
  2. I went with the H&R springs. I really like them. More compliant than the Epic Engineering springs and they have a lifetime warranty. I contacted EE about the spring breaking and talked with Horacio. I sent him an email and a text later, but no one ever got back to me. Stay away from EE springs. Much better options out there with better customer service. I can say H&R customer service was fantastic.
  3. From what I read, they seem to be too aggressive for me. I'll ask my speed shop about them though. Thanks.
  4. Well, I just found out that my left-front Epic spring in broken. The set only has 43K on them and the car has been garaged through the winter since 2015 (installed in 2012). Would anyone make some suggestions to me? Right now I'm running the Epics on Koni yellows. My speed shop is suggesting H&R Sport Springs, but some here don't seem to like this combo. Please help. Thanks.
  5. How about an 18x8 with +45 offset? I've seen some Enkeis I like on TireRack. They'll mount the tires and balance them. Even include the lugs. They say if it comes up in the wheel selector for my car (06 GT) they'll fit. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for getting back to me. I decided I'm not going with these wheels because of the need to roll the fenders. I don't want to do that, plus I don't want to loose the fender liners. A +35 offset can also stress the wheel bearings, so I'm sicking with the 17" stockers on 225/45X17s. Oh well, it was fun to dream though.
  7. I saw these wheels on a 2013 WRX and really like them. They are the Aodhan DS02s, but they only come in 18x8.5 with a +35 offset. I'm wondering if they would fit on my 2006 LGT with Koni/Epic combo on 225/40 x 18 tires without any rolling. Thanks for your advise. https://www.aodhanwheels.com/collections/ds-series/products/aodhan-wheels-ds02?variant=19022894235759
  8. I feel the same way. I have an '06 Legacy GT SDN, 5MT, Cobb stage 2 with suspension upgrades, in brand new condition and I still love it after all these years. I'd rather have the motor rebuilt than getting something else.
  9. Thank you for replying. It is probably 11.1:1. I have to look next time I take it on the highway. Right now I'm dealing with a transmission problem (5-MT), which the garage tells me is coming from the rear extension housing. It's a chattering noise which shows itself at partial throttle and goes away off-throttle. Full throttle the noise gets less, but the frequency gets higher. It only shows itself under load. If you or anyone has an idea what it may be, please chime in. Thanks.
  10. I have a question on your statement that AFR of 12:1 is dangerously lean. I thought the higher the number the leaner it is. I'm new to this so please forgive my ignorance. I recently got a COBB stage 2 done on my 06 GT, the up/down pipe and airbox w/accessport. My AFR monitor on the AP shows 14.5 or so when cruising and progressively goes to 11.5 or so at full boost (16.5 psi). The speed shop that installed all this stuff and loaded the tune from the AP says that's right where it's suppose to be. What do you think? I'm a little confused on what the numbers mean. Thanks.
  11. Very nice. The original color looks awesome.
  12. I hope I'm an exception to this rule. I have 123K on the original VF40 with stock oiling. I had the original banjo filter taken out and inspected at 112K and it was clean, so I had the mechanic put a new one in. I've been using Castrol GTX 5W-30 and NAPA Gold oil filters changed every 3K since new and everything is good. I've always loved reading this thread. I often wanted to pull the trigger on a BNR, but the upgrades to the oiling, fueling and supporting modes where just too expensive. Keep up the good work Bryan.
  13. Johann, you are a master at what you do. I really enjoy following this thread, much like the '99 Lego thread you had a few years ago. That was an awesome car. Best Gen2 I have ever seen. Good luck with this new project. I sure it will be awesome. I really love the bike pic. That was amazing.
  14. F31, I read your whole thread. Really awesome. Like frank_ster, you took your Legacy to the next level.
  15. F31, more info please. Do you have a thread on this site? If so please give us the link. This looks amazing!!!! I need to see more of your Legacy!
  16. I have to add that I have the Epics mounted on Koni adjustable strut inserts for the front an shocks in the rear. The ride is stiff but compliant with them set half way between full firm and full soft. It seems with Epics, Teins, H&Rs or Cobbs the stock struts can't seem to dampen properly for the spring rates of these after market springs. You may hit the bump-stops more often than you'd like. Case-in-point, my son has an '08 LGT that had Cobbs on the stockers. He hit the bump-stops on a regular bases with the terrible roads in the Lehigh Valley of PA. They wore out within 50K and now he has the Konis with the Cobbs. Now he never hits the bump-stops. This may be something to consider. Depending on the mileage of the stock struts you may consider just getting the Koni installed when you change to an aftermarket spring.
  17. Epic Springs are rebadged Eibachs. I have them and they're great.
  18. Thanks for your comments. I'll have to look into that. PA does have a lot of Subarus but not many turbo cars - at least in my area. I may have seen 5 Legacy GTs since I moved back to NEPA in 2008. The local dealer here, Minooka Subaru, didn't even have Legacy GTs in stock during the Gen 4-5 run. They can sell more NA Legacys and Outbacks. Cheers.
