  1. Went to Sears yesterday and replaced the 18" 1/2"-drive breaker bar (the pivot pin kept falling out) and picked up a 32mm socket and 6" extension. Hopefully combined with a cheater pipe, that should do the trick. I was ready to drop some coin on a 18" 3/4"-drive breaker bar and socket, but they weren't in stock. I will continue to shop around until Sunday... then it's on!
  2. Yeah, I have a 1 1/4" (31.75mm) socket which fits fine, but is not impact rated. Since the electric impact would most likely not work anyway (couldn't budge the lower rear shock bolt), I will try to use the 1-1/4 with the breaker bar. I would normally be hesitant to use the english equivalent rather than the proper metric socket, but in this case it should be okay since it is slightly smaller than 32mm. Now my only fear is snapping the breaker bar, it is a cheapie craftsman POS.
  3. I do have a corded Milwaukee Impact (300ftlb), but no 32mm 1/2" drive impact socket. :*(
  4. I need to pull the rear hubs this weekend in order to replace the trailing arms. What's the best way to remove the axle nut lock? Last time I had it in the air I tried prying back the dent/lock on the nut and it wasn't going anywhere. My best guess was take off the wheel centercap with the car still on the ground (parking brake set) and use a breaker bar & cheater pipe to break the nut loose, then lift the car, remove the wheel, and fully remove the nut.
  5. Saturday afternoon, silver LGT tinted & on BBS's at F1 Boston, your friend asked if I wanted to race (the LGTs) . ~ 6pm saw an '05 GRP spoilered sedan going North on 24 a few exits from 93N, Randolph area. My steering, and handling in general, felt toy-ish after driving the kart. The acceleration was much better though! I can't wait to go back...
  6. horknfbr, good to see you again. Car is lookin' sharp!
  7. I echo beanboy's statement: For the 24k of the car + the 6k I've put into it, I don't think there has been another car out there that would be as well-rounded or appealing. Once the warranty is up (yea yea, what's a warranty ) the power mods will grow that value even further.
  8. In order of purchase Winter tires ~$700 Tint ~$250 STS ~$100 Summer Wheels/Tires ~$1400 Eyelids ~$130 Redline leather products ~$100 Cleaning Supplies ~$300 Suspension & Tools for install ~$3000 Total ~$6000
  9. I'm going to install these with a Whiteline steering-rack bushing kit and a Turn-in concepts 5MT bushing kit later on this summer. I think it will be a pretty dramatic improvement in all but NVH.
  10. Saw the same '06 spec.b twice today. From the drive-thru line at D&D on rt.136 I saw you turn on to Rt.6 in Swansea. Then when I got off 195, I saw you pulling into the showcase cinemas in seekonk ~$630pm?
  11. Caliper support, front, right, 2.5GT - 26225AG040 - $66.98 Not sure on the bolt...
  12. Sorry for the noob question guys. Looked up the plug info in the vaca pix. It lists as NGK-ILFR6B with a 0.7-0.8mm gap. When I looked up this number on Amazon (I have a gift card) they said it's not compatible with the '06 LGT. I'm sure its a mistake on their part, but I just wanted to verify that people who want OEM plugs should use this part number. I have no need to go a step colder as I will be stock power until 60k.
  13. Looking for the P/N of the STi 5MT Transmission Mount, not the Group-N version.
  14. Who did I see behind me yesterday off exit 34 on Rt.2 in the afternoon? I think it was a DGM sedan and you were pointing at my car and explaining something to the passenger.
  15. well then, i guess it wasn't you! Another GRP sedan this morning (Monday) on 495N around 8AM. Blonde chick driving, car looked stock.
  16. Spoilerless GRP Sedan on 146N, south of Worcester at 11:30AM this morning (Sunday). I was in the gf's Yaris, but it made my day to see my twin. Such a beautiful car/color!
  17. Agreed. The fix has also seemed to cure the rattle I was getting from the driver side console trim in all but the worst conditions (single digit temps, rough pavement). On the downside, the gorilla putting it back together mashed the boot collar between the shifter knob and the STS. When I fixed it I found that the collar does not fit as tightly around the knob . I will try to fix it with the boot install.
  18. Fixed! The gap is no more. I dropped the car off at noon and when I went back (4 hrs later) the car was done. I went inside and the SA (different one than last time) said it was all fixed and he thought it had something to do with the STS. His reasoning was that "there was something there holding it down" but he let me go without a hassle. I have documented complaints going back to my first oil change (November '06) and the receipt for the STS from April '07 so I wasn't worried, it's just annoying to have someone feed you a line without any respect for your intelligence. All in all, I'm glad I got it done. While the gap has been eliminated, the panel sits a c-hair high on the passenger side, similar to how you could fix the gap but the plate wouldn't sit right, only this is much much less noticeable and it doesn't pop back into place. Also, the gap between the offending panel and the floor liner is still there. When I put in the new shift boot, I will put some padding so the panel and floor liner are flush. Thanks to all who have laid the groundwork for getting this fixed!
  19. Went in for an oil change yesterday and told the Service Advisor that I had a panel fit issue I'd like someone to take a look at. The tech and I went out to the car and I showed him the gap between the shifter trim and the radio bezel. Also, there was a gap where the floor liner goes up into the center console area, such that you could stick your fingers in enough to grab the panel. I showed him that pushing the panel would fix both gaps and he agreed it was warped. They agreed to replace the panel (66073AG08CJC, not sure if the "C" is a newer revision?) and they found that one of the little white clip-pieces near the seat-heater switches had come out, but replacing it had no effect. I will report back after it gets installed.
  20. Doing really good. Two big things: got engaged over Thanksgiving while in Amsterdam, and putting in a spec.B+ suspension in March. I'm not sure which one I'm more excited about!
  21. I'm up in Fitchburg now. Commute is Fitchburg to Billerica along rt.2, 495 and rt.4, ~7:30am and 5pm every day.
  22. Coelli, haven't seen you around in a while... How have you been?
