Boostjunkie
I installed the RPM angel eyes yesterday. It's a very nicely made kit. No instructions at all, but that wasn't too big a deal. Not going to detail the install much because others have done that already. Did a couple little things differently, but all minor stuff. I also did the independant foglight mod, and wired that relay to ON power, so whenever the key is in the ON position I can turn on the fogs. The AE's are triggered by the fog lights, so the two come on together. Anyway here are the pics. Everything off: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a002.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a001.jpg Under the hood. Relay is tucked up under the top of the fender. Fuse holder is between the battery and fuse box. The driver's side transformer is stuck to the front of the battery jacket. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a004.jpg AE's and fogs on: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a008.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a009.jpg Lights on in the garage. First pic with just the AE's and fogs. Second with my HID low beams on as well. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a011.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a012.jpg

Boostjunkie
Yup, 6K. The second night picture (offset frontal with no other lighting) most closely reflects the actual color of the light. The rest look more blue than the really are.

Thanks Flavio Zanetti Boston, MA Mine are better... j/k In all seriousness, I'm not using any kind of pre-made kit for the HID's. They are pieced together from OEM components. I think you get a better quality product that way for less money if you shop wisely. The install isn't quite as straightforward, but that's not something I mind. Thanks for the comments guys. The install look some time and there are a couple little mess ups on my part, but it still turned out pretty nicely.

firedawgs
the fog light mod you did to trigger in the "on" position is slightly different then the other thread right? I also want to do the fog light mod like you did with the "on" Updated my vBGarage:
TSiWRX
firedawgs, Yes - my relay trigger is simply the side marker lamps, any time that my markers are on ( not the signals, though! flashing halo = teh lose! ), my halos are on. To use the fogs as the trigger, simply splice into the fog's hot wire for your relay trigger. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
IwannaSportSedan
Any word on whether those come in amber/yellow? Closer to (2000K) those things are bright! Or if there are any longer CC tubes? it is a significant gap at the top... All in all, a great mod, and a good job on it. a couple tweeks and it would look quite OEM... Boostjunkie
the fog light mod you did to trigger in the "on" position is slightly different then the other thread right? I also want to do the fog light mod like you did with the "on" If you are referring to the independant fog mod, all I did differently is wire the fog relay to ON power rather than to the parking light trigger. That way I don't have to have the parking lights on to have my fogs and angel eyes on. All you need to do is cut the wire from the fog relay like in the walkthrough thread but instead to tapping the wire they say to just find a source of switched ON power. I used the orange wire off my disconnected white DRL harness. Simple enough. BTW, the pics make the angel eyes look more blue and brighter than they are in real life. Probably the closest pic is this one: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/a009.jpg
JBLU24
ugh!! i tried installing my angel eyes last thursday and 1 ended up breaking byt itself! i was waiting for the 3rd glue spot to set- it was getting late so i just decided to cut my losses and just do my HID's and hopefully sell my 2 angel eyes.....now seeing how good they look im tempted to take everything apart again! TSiWRX
^ Don't rush. In my humble opinion, this still isnt a "hard" mod to do, per-se, it's just somewhat tedious due to the need to "stand-off" the halo. Practice the epoxy "bridging" technique a bit before you start - and be sure you've got a very fast-setting epoxy. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
Boostjunkie
I actually used clear RTV silicone sealant. Found the easiest way was to squeeze a little blob (pea sized) out of the tube and apply the blob to the low beam trim ring with a small flat head screwdriver. Then I just held the AE ring in place for a couple minutes. The clear silicone seemed to gel pretty quickly so it wasn't too tough or time consuming.
