courtjesterclown
Had the timing belt break on my 1994 Legacy Sport, 2.2 turbo, 4eat. Mechanic quoted me at 4 hours labor, plus 600 for the parts. I thought the 600 seemed a little bit steep. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a good kit that has all the essentials plus water pump, cam seals etc... Thanks for your help in advance!
snederhiser
Hello; Last one I bought was less than $150.00 shipped to my doorstep from Epay. This was a complete kit w/pump. The only thing missing was the o-rings for the cam towers. Steven.
monkeyposeur
I posted my .02 cents in your other thread. When I ordered my Gates kit they sent me the wrong water pump as the 22E and 22T are different. A WRX water pump may work but I'm not certain. Check out bbs for confirmation. trevorno
Ditto on the gates kit. Got the wrong pump and had to buy a new one from oreilly's. Good kit otherwise.
mnstrmech
600 for parts at a shop isnt bad... prolly autozone parts... My shop uses primarily NAPA, and our cost is $275 for a timing belt kit, and typical mark up is list price per NAPA, which is $585. Then the tensioner assembly lists out at $290. thats not even including the t-stat or serp belts......
monkeyposeur
We can help you do it yourself. It's intimidating at first but pretty cool when you learn something and realize you can work on your own vehicle. The amount you spend on basic tools will pay for itself after a repair or two.
