brokentv Posted June 9, 2013 Share Posted June 9, 2013 I use 86 which is the lowest grade here and have noticed nothing abnormal. Now that I think about it though a couple months ago I started noticing a very subtle piston slap sound when driving at parking lot speeds. Could that type of a sound be related to fuel? twisty Posted June 10, 2013 Share Posted June 10, 2013 i dont even look at the prices anymore. i fill my wagon once a month with 87, the GT gets filled weekly with 91, the civic gets filled weekly with 87, the dodge truck gets a half tank a month (13 or 14 gal, same as filling the subis) of 91 and the work truck ford f150 gets filled up multiple times a week with 87. if i watched prices id go insane. DOHCEJ22E1 Posted June 10, 2013 Share Posted June 10, 2013 Last week, I've filled my car w/93 & it ran as smooth as velvet but gas mileage dropped hardcore (only got 24/31ish down from my usual 27/34). I could also tell that the car lost a little low-end power but had a lot to deliver @ some 3k rpm up. I drive about 300mi a week, roughly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
