Do we need a new thread or does this need a new title?

Recommended Posts

vs the Legacy I keep thinking that someone is actually cross shopping but those threads are rare. When they do come up I'm surprised at the comparisons.

I know it's just that crazy old guy Drew yappin his jaws but I'm only thinking relatively low $, quality for the $ spent, performance, utility, and above all mod potential.

So far only the upcoming Chevy SS piques my interest otherwise the Legacy has no equal. About 400 WTQ and 16 mpg city in a Spec-B. Hmmmmm

Is there really something other than the SS that fits the bill? Please AWD aside...

Hahahaha, Hmmmm maybe I was...

That aside I can (with sober eyes) see that the title say 'Other cars' so fine...

Just please don't cross shop a modded Legacy with an AWD 300c or something that idotic.

  • 2 weeks later...

Raptor is the only 'truck' I'd consider.

Challenger, 5.0, Charger, Upcoming Chevy SS, $45-50k or less.

LGT, stg4, decent sized turbo, on E85 same or slightly better performance than those listed. 16 city / 20+Hwy, interior competes or better than some except for the SS. A 5 yr old Spec B is still hard to beat.

I also have to consider my 90mi/day commute. What might a replacement engine cost me in a 5.0 or Challenger? I think more than my Suby. Win again....

I picked up my new 2013 SuperCab Raptor within your price range out the door.

Roush phase 1 supercharger kit keeps the original Ford factory warranty, and comes with an additional 3yr/36,000mi warranty.

http://www.roushperformance.com/parts/f-150-supercharger-62l-2011-2012.html

Or you can opt for the phase 2 if you don't care about a warranty: http://www.roushperformance.com/parts/2011-2013-62L-Ford-F-150-Supercharger-ROUSH-R2300-Phase-2-Kit-590-HP.html (you can also choose the "tuner" kit which can net you close to 700hp).

The phase 2 can only be warrantied if Roush pulls the truck off the assembly line themselves to install the kit, otherwise they don't know if the motor was abused before they got it and won't guarantee it.

Both kits use the stock internals, which are quite robust.

On the highway, I can get around 14-15mpg averaging 80MPH. Mixed city/hwy I get 13mpg. I didn't expect any decent gas mileage when I was buying it anyways.

I drive a LOT. I put over 25k miles in the 6 months I've had it (had 28 miles when I got it). The highway ride is unbelievably comfortable and it handles pretty damn well for having 35" tires and soft suspension. I have not had any issues with yet.

Very nice!

Well I am a bit behind you with the LGT mods but once I can get the turbo upgraded again along with my tired pump/injectors I'll play with it a bit and start over (if I can smack down a few kids in SRT-8's then I can let the LGT out to pasture happy).

Being in Los Ageleese I wouldn't know what to do with a Raptor but I would with a SS, M3, CTS-V.

Many on here can't stand Mustangs and the only reason I see over and over is that "they are everywhere" but I may want to give a V8 a try.
