eagletree Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I noticed some mini mudgard type things underneath the chassis in front of the rear wheels on my GT Wagon - anyone know what these are?
bemani Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 So you don't ding your car when you back up really really fast ? :p I wonder what they are too, at first I thought they installed it in the wrong place, but then I saw other cars have it there too.
Opie Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 They are called diverters IIRC, they assist the aerodynamics of the undercarriage and help divert air around the tire instead of directly into it. The Lagacy's (and many cars from other manufacturers) have had them for a few years.
agctr Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 I think its also to divert water as well from moving into the central part of the undertray. But agree also with the top post, it is to also move air around.

agctr Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Yes, the outgoing MY99 and up Liberty/Legacy also has them.
