jj808
Im wonder how you guys that are doing UP/DP, turbo replacement setups get past the visual inspection? Do you happen to "know" someone or am i missing something? Are they not as strict as i am lead to believe?
nekdut
Well I don't think anyone in California has been smogged yet. Everyone's car is at most 1 year old and no one is up for an inspection yet. I too am very curious as to how we all are going to pull this off come smog time. Is it 4 or 6 years before we are required to go in?
NutBucket
You don't need the car smogged for 6 years. At any rate, most smog guys aren't gonna check all that carefully anyway. I hear that more then likely the car will pass with only one cat.

foghat
I have seen cars with no-cats pass a smog check but not the visual inspection.
NutBucket
I have seen cars with no-cats pass a smog check but not the visual inspection. Yeah, but again, a lot of smog guys don't do a very thorough inspection;)
foghat
My guy never even puts his coffee down, let alone get down on his knees and look for a cat. You gotta love 2-wheel smog dynos!
