Yes you can get a new OEM EJ257 for $1800. you'll need the gasket set for your year car. Have a machine shop... well here.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

where can you get that block for that price??

but isn't better to direct bolt the ej255 back into the car instead of the ej257?

I got mine from my local dealer, but I got hooked up from one of the members on here.

The ej257 is less money then a ej255
