jkaszynski
I keep seeing mention of 05-06 uppipes being catted and a possible bad day in the making. In the later models is there any benefit to upgrading them? Are they a restriction in any way (is the an actual benefit in efficiency)
Brprs
Yes, the break inside and and cause turbo failure and possibly more. You could get a used sti up pipe for $50 the doesn't have a cat inside.
WaspGT
Or you could get a real Up Pipe. I chose GrimmSpeed, because after further research they seemed the best bang for the buck as far as quality and affordability. Here's my thread... it's full of craziness as are all of mine, but nonetheless there is a ton of useful info, and pictures. Don't trust in cheap fixes... you'll only hurt your car;) http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/new-grimmspeed-up-pipe-thoughtsi-202262.html
