Turbo clutch replacement options

Recommended Posts

Looking to replace the clutch/flywheel in my 94 ss, but not sure which clutch to buy. Should I pick one up from Napa, or shop around for a performance. Seeing a variety of them on the ebay, but not sure what would be best. My car is stock at the moment, but I wouldn't mind a bigger turbo and an intercooler in the future.

Anybody have any recommendations? Good or bad experiences?

Thanks,

Trevor

no more shopping around..... http://www.southbendclutch.com/ south bend clutch. Excellent parts, great customer service... plus thier local... to me.. lol

heres thier price page for you http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/html/legacy-outback.html

i put one of thier "stage 1" clutch kits in a buddys car a while ago, and he was like 19 at the time, he beat the living snot out of the car and the clutch lasted for years.... engine ended up blowing up...clutch was still strong.

(level one is what they consider slightly stronger than stock replacement)

I also used them for my last car. When i had the engine out, took the clutch disc in and had it relined with better than stock material. Since the clutch wasn't "gone", didnt need to touch the flywheel or pressure plate. That clutch felt really good......

mnstrmech, looking at south bend's website, the stage 1 is for "HD" use. Heavy Duty? Probably what I need. I think the 295 ft lb rating would handle my beast. If I go any heavier, I'll have to have my left pant legs altered.
