crossle32
I am on my third set of OEM, STI strut mounts on my 05 LGT wagon. I am using Spec B spec Bilsteins, stock springs. Are there any good alternatives? I don't really know why my mounts keep coming apart.

crossle32
I can take pics but you can't see the damage. Very small movement but makes the clunking noise.
AZP Installs
That seems very odd. I'm assuming you mean you are using Spec B Top Mounts or Group N Legacy Top Mounts, not actually STi ones. If you are using STi ones that could be part of the problem. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. crossle32
Sorry, I meant spec B. Do you sell Group N mounts? Cost shipped to 20877?
AZP Installs
Sorry, I meant spec B. Do you sell Group N mounts? Cost shipped to 20877? The Group N ones are the same as the Spec B ones. When you installed the SpecB mounts on the Spec B struts, did you re-use any hardware from your LGT struts? if so what parts? -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. crossle32
no. I used the lock nuts that came with the struts. I had to make bushings for the struts. The diameter of the top hats was to big for the strut so I turned some bushings on the lathe.
AZP Installs
no. I used the lock nuts that came with the struts. I had to make bushings for the struts. The diameter of the top hats was to big for the strut so I turned some bushings on the lathe. This is likely the source of your issues. The diameter of that upper mount should fit fine on the spec b struts. You may very well have some STi strut tops and not in fact spec b ones. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
