Cold Cathode Tubes in Cluster

Recommended Posts

I did remove the green dye and the dot matrix with sandpaper. The odometer windows, (and everything else), is lit with whatever color the bulbs are. The green dye coating on the back of the gauge face has no effect on the odometer window color. It will be same color the bulbs are. You pretty much have to remove the 2 coatings, the dot matrix will cause it to be un-even. (BTW The dot matrix is on top of the green dye layer)

If you wanted to keep it green then you would need green led lights. White leds filtered through green would give you extremely dim output. Most of the spectrum would be absorbed, un-like an incandescent bulb.

Oh by the way Stasis, That was a good suggestion of adding more light to the odometer. The factory spill light was just lacking and weak.
