way2tall89
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have been reading up on all of the posts for a while now. Hoping I can get some guidance. Recently I acquired an '05 LGT Limited off of a trade from a dealership. My previous car was an '09 Legacy 2.5i. I am completely in love with this car and I came out on top with the trade in. Lowered my monthly payment and got a much faster, more luxurious car in the process. Alright enough about my trade. I have been noticing a sound when braking that I thought were the brakes grinding or something. I took it into the dealership and they told me my brakes look awesome and are at 50%. They also said they would clean them for free while they had my car in for tire balance and alignment. Not sure if they actually did it though. I can't really explain the noise that its making. It kind of sounds like grinding with a bit of a howl. I can't feel any vibration in the brake pad when pressing on it. I looked at the outer side of the rotors to see if there was a rock that was coming in contact with any of them but they all look pristine. Has anyone heard of this and if so what might it be? way2tall89
I know a couple of places where I can do that. I'll try that this weekend. Thanks for the idea, didn't even think to do that.

AZP Installs
Hmm, my guess is that it has to do with the clips on the LGT pads/calipers. There are clips that hold the pads in place and a lot of shops when they replace them do not re-install them properly. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. way2tall89
is there a way to install them properly after they have been improperly installed? Maybe a DIY?
AZP Installs
is there a way to install them properly after they have been improperly installed? Maybe a DIY? Yes you can fix em afterward. I'll see if there is a DIY around as I'm sure there is. It is second nature to us after doing 100s and 100s of them but I remember the first few I did on the LGTs got me. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
