Arcteryx
but idk why anyone would want 16s, im sure 17s work fine for snows or whatever Have you compared the cost of a 15" or 16" snow tire to a 17" snow tire? The price climbs quickly: e.g., Michelin X-Ice Xi3: 185/65R15: $102 each 205/55R16: $135 each 225/50R17: $168 each He stated because price. Yes, price plus the already-stated reason that in the snow you generally want a narrow, high-sidewall tire.
Scooby Fan
I remember a thread here where the OP took a grinder to his LGT front calipers, to create clearance for his 16" wheels I remember that thread....Oh crap...what a great way to save a few dollars??? I ran OEM LGT rims with 215/45/17 snows for years on my '06 LGT....no problems at all.......I now have a 2012 Legacy Ltd and run the OEM rims with 225/50/17 snows.....works great....shop around...there are some very good deals on good snow tires. iNVAR
Those steelies on TireRack are new, not sure if anyone here has tried them yet. If you get them, let us know how they work out.
Scooby Fan
Has anyone actually tried to order these elusive 17" steel wheels??? Last year they had them listed but when you tried to order them they did NOT exist in an appropriate size and offset.
Arcteryx
OK, I went with a somewhat radical option in the end. I'm going to be cryptic for now, but I'll post pics once the work is done. Let's just say that you might be seeing me in and around Portland around Christmas.
