I get the oil changed & tires rotated by the dealer every 3K religiously for a couple reasons. 1, i plan on keeping the car for a long time, & 2, if I ever have an issue after my warranty is up - Subaru is more willing to "good will" things if they can see you are come to the dealer for recommended maintenance. I worked at the dealer for 15 years, so ive seen this happen quite a few times. I got an estimate on the 30K the other day, & was a bit shocked by the $450.00 quote. I'm at 214k right now on mine. but that price seems steep for a 30k service. the dealer always charges more then they should. you should be able to do that service yourself too though. nothing major from what I remember. since you plan on keeping it....go check out the "who is in it for the long haul" thread. lots of high mileage legacy's in there. think I'm one of 3 with mileage that high. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Im almost positive it did not include them. From what I recall it was: LOF, Rotate, Brake Flush, Cabin Filter, Air Filter, Diff Services, & Alignment. bluesubie Posted December 4, 2012 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Don't ask for the dealer's 30k, but ask for the price following what's in SoA's maintenance schedule. The dealer probably has several add-on's that are not required by SoA (e.g. spark plugs mentioned above, oil additive, fuel additive, etc.). Also, if you can at least do a few things yourself you'll save money by having the dealer do a la carte maintenance. I always changed my engine oil & filter, air filter, cabin filter, front & rear diff, and had the dealer do the plugs and brakes or anything major. I was still able to get warranty coverage at any time during the warranty and at 62k a turbo replacement was goodwilled because I had mentioned smoking on two previous visits. I've also seen cases where people have had their maintenance done 100% at outside shops and had no problems getting warranty work. edit: Bring your own oil, skip the brake flush, change the air filter yourself, and skip the alignment! -Dennis Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Depending on where in PA you are it might be worth it to pay us a visit. On the CVT cars, I don't believe that you need to touch the CVT fluid for at least 60k miles.
