icehousewvu
Guys I thought I would post about this just in case others are having the same problem. I have a bad bearing in the DS rear wheel.... Dealer has ordered a hub and it will be replaced this Friday.
rao
It was a fairly common problem on old RS's, but the design was changed. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
mccorry
Hey Ice... what was it doing to make you have it checked out?
icehousewvu
Well its the unmistakable sound of a bad bearing. I would best describe it as a buzzing or whirring sound that can clearly be heard even at highway speeds.

TurboBrett
I had replaced 3 wheel bearings in my old RS. Subaru never recalled them despite many people having the same problem over and over until it was re-designed. However, even for the one that failed at 65K I was able to get subaru to cover it by calling the customer service number and nicely and tactifully explaining why it should be covered despite being a few years out of warranty (used to just be covered in the 36K warranty). I think wheel bearings are considered in the power-train warranty now
