Brady
HOLY CRAP!!!! How'd you get Tiptronic in the car!? That must be one hell of a mod! Edit: Oh yeah ... welcome aboard!
emorphien
Don't be a jerk to him :-p I don't think using it from time to time will hurt, but in general I'm not sure how much you should be rowing through the gears with an auto like a manual. Brady
I don't even think it will really do any harm to use it regularly ... it's rather hard to abuse the system. It's smart enough to not really allow you to do any damage. So my vote is ... drive it like you're Schumacher. (or something).
fbi012
I too drive tiptronic all the time, sport shift isn't bad either. I dont think it damages anything, and if it does, I belive gear warranty is 4 or 5 years, so they'll get u a new one if it does.

Scotty
Tiptronic is a registered trademark of Porsche. Sportshift is a registered trademark of Prodrive. Geartronic is a registered trademark of Volvo. Steptronic is a registered trademark of BMW. These are all trademarks of basically the same system, an automatic transmission that has a manual override. The worst you can do is confuse those trademarks with other trademarks like DSG (Audi) and SMG (BMW). Will you damage one, depends on what kind of loads you are putting through it. godwhomismike
It should be fine - I doubt Subaru would equip the car with it if it caused some sort of damage. - Mike
