volodyalysak
Just stay stock and keep it simple unless you want to make 300+ WHP.
GTTuner
Ok, I must ask why do you plan on changing the comp. ratio?
ripemeat
ok, elephant in the room, I'll be the one to say it, why are you going to take years to fix a legacy?

Max Capacity
Look here for "got some new stuff for engine R&R" it's about 8-9 pages back now. I'm making 280whp on a mustang dyno with the old short block. I paid about $2100 for the new ej257 and gasket set. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. AZP Installs
We've been using the Wiseco pistons for our standard rebuilds and they are holding 300+ hp no problems. If you don't like to wait to warm up the car in the AM before driving, then cosworth pistons are the route to go as they don't need nearly the warmup time of the other forged pistons out there. I would not suggest replacing with OEM pistons, only because of their tendency for ringland failures... -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. plumb
Haven't got a chance to look at that link yet but thanks max capacity. Thanks for the advice azp installs those two were some of the pistons I was looking at
GTTuner
As for pistons, I recomend using 4032 alloy. The 2618 alloy is for drag/nitrous applications and will not have the longevity of the 4032. You can fit a 4032 alloy piston to almost stock piston to wall clearance, they run quieter and use less oil.

Sorry for thread hijack OP, What kind of warm up time you talking about with the Wiseco's? i have them in mine and they are noisey bastards when driving cold, i usually just remote start the car and let it warm up for 3-4 mins and then drive with not much boost for another few mins
AZP Installs
Sorry for thread hijack OP, What kind of warm up time you talking about with the Wiseco's? i have them in mine and they are noisey bastards when driving cold, i usually just remote start the car and let it warm up for 3-4 mins and then drive with not much boost for another few mins The Wisecos really need to be warmed up at idle until the temp gauge rises up. Otherwise you can get some oil consumption and will get that noise. Also depends on the ambient. I would let it idle for about 10 min before moving it. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
