ShadowImg
Huh? How could remounting directional tires help? They'll still be directional.
Briteyes85
Could flip them around to the other side of the car if they're remounted.

ShadowImg
Ah, I've had asymmetrics for too long, I forgot that directionals are not necessarily also asymmetric.
Briteyes85
Oh yea I'm just trying. To find ways to Make the tires last a bit longer...actually, what kind of mileage do you get on a set of tires?
ShadowImg
I used dedicated snows and summers on separate wheels. I get about 20k from summers and 10-15k from snows, depending on weather. I do not let my tread get very shallow though, as Chicago's weather is very extreme. My wear is fairly even though. If you get asymmetric non-directional tires on your next set, you can cross rotate them without remounting. Have a good alignment shop zero your toe and explain your wear issues to them. Mr. Sinister
Something is definitely wrong. I got 45K miles on my last set, probably could've gone another 10K if I didn't get a screw stuck in the sidewall. I go 12K+ in between "rotations" (swapping summer/winter) and they all wear evenly. What are you inflating the tires to, btw?
AZP Installs
Something is definitely wrong. I would go to a different alignment shop to have them check it over. If you can find an indy suby shop in the area, that would also help as they can pinpoint an issue since they are more familiar with the Subies. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Briteyes85
I got about 50k from my set before this one also. I did go to a better alignment shop Saturday and they said my alignment is perfect...they didn't even charge me because they did nothing ...I asked if anything was bent they checked and nothing. :/ I'm at a loss I need to find a subie shop, but the only thing I've found so far are dealers. So this weekend ill be looking more. Also, everyone has told me that coil overs would fix my issue, but the guy at the alignment shop said it'd only make the tires wear faster? Also, my husband has been complaining about my right side sitting lower than the left...I did see an area this was discussed, but there was never a conclusion...anyone heard about that? Or why it seems to be fairly common? Oh and their at 35psi

AZP Installs
They also may have said it was fine and didn't charge you because they didn't know or want to get involved chasing down the real issues behind it. I've seen that happen before. If you were out here I would say bring it in and we would check it out for you! -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Lanaue
How about your rear upper links.
ShadowImg
Well, if your alignment is good in 'static' form, start looking for things which could cause issues only while moving/dynamic. Does the wear only happen in the rear? Could have to do with a wheel bearing or differential issue.
Briteyes85
It does typically occur in the rear...ill have to talk to my husband about that...these are the time I wish I still lived in San Diego and worked for the subie dealer :/
