JaeDM413
Got a set of JDM head lights, it has some old PIAA hid kit on it but I don't know if the ballast are any good. I know the bulbs are bad but I'm such a n00b when it comes to HIDs that I don't know what kind of bulbs they are. I think I rather just get a new HID kit so I know everything is new. Any suggestions? Stasis
A lot of people in this area give high creds to ddm kits H1's for lows I believe?

monkeyposeur
I am running 55k 5000w DDM H1s in JDM projectors converted to USDM light pattern and aimed to DOT specs. The light is very white, not blue. It's great being able to see at night. One of the best things I have ever done to the wagon.
Regardie
That's a very nice light pattern. Baked the projectors to get them open to modify? What did you use on the reflectors to get such a nice cutoff?

monkeyposeur
That's a very nice light pattern. Baked the projectors to get them open to modify? What did you use on the reflectors to get such a nice cutoff? Thanks! Yeah, I baked them and took them apart. The JDM projectors already have a nice cutoff, but it is the JDM light pattern for right hand driving. I converted the cutoff to the UDSM light pattern by following eekay's conversion and blackout thread: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/diy-jdm-headlight-blackout-and-usdm-light-pattern-conversion-127120.html I wish I would have blacked out mine and cleared the lenses when I had them apart. Oh well, I'll do it someday. I did put in a pair of halos and they are pretty cool. The main thing I did differently from eekay's DIY is that I used multiple layers of sticky aluminum duct tape. So far no issues. However, if I was to do it again I would just use aluminum foil or soda can material and some JB weld. The JB weld would give you some time to move the aluminum around to get it positioned perfectly, which was hard to do with sticky tape. Here are some pics of how I did it. twisty
so you just brought the cutoff up farther than the RHD one? did you lower that side first or is it just raised on the opposite side?
