monkeyposeur
I hope you are kidding about chopped springs. HIDs in non projector housings is unsafe and extremely annoying to other drivers.
Grimmrican
I'm dead serious about chopped springs lol it's only temporary. And I just read something about that today on the hids. Y is it bothersome with stock headlights?

BAC5.2
I'm dead serious about chopped springs lol it's only temporary. And I just read something about that today on the hids. Y is it bothersome with stock headlights? Spend some time looking on this forum about HID's in halogen housings (and on Google). HID bulb output is different than halogen output. It's impossible to optimize a housing for one and effectively use another bulb. The result is utterly awful output. And cutting springs is just dangerous and stupid. Grimmrican
Well I knew about the springs but not the bulbs. I mean I kno they r diff but didn't kno they were bad for unprojector headlights. I guess I do fail ._ .
monkeyposeur
It's all right. You didn't know any better. Your HIDs will blind oncoming traffic because the light pattern is so scattered. You might be able to see but no one else will, and that obviously can cause problems. HIDs in projector housings work because they are able to cutoff the light pattern so the headlights illuminate the road in front of you, but doesn't shine the light into the eyes of oncoming drivers. OSRAM cool blue bulbs are a good replacement for your stock bulbs. Ditch the HIDs until you get a proper housing. edit: Do not get teh 'cool blues'. BAC5.2
Don't get the "Cool Blue" bulbs. They are worse than stock. The best bulbs you can buy off-the-shelf at a parts store are Sylvania XTravisions. DOHCEJ22E1
Our springs are not designed to be cut & used in the "lowered" way. We don't have those "perfect end to end" springs that an old Honda Civic has & will give you an amazing bounce (being cut, they not distribute the force of the car's weight from up to down & back again very unevenly). We need lowering springs for our cars & there are plenty available.
monkeyposeur
Don't get the "Cool Blue" bulbs. They are worse than stock. I respectfully disagree. I failed to mention that I bought the European Market bulbs (OSRAM Sylvania 9003). They are different than the UDSM counterparts, which do suck. Way better and brighter than the stock bulbs. I haven't tried the bulbs that you suggested. The OSRAMS were suggested to me by kennyvfholla.
Grimmrican
I didn't order the cool blue headlights I ordered 5000k white ones and the blue ones I got. I wasn't gonna fuss about it so I decided to stay with them. I am however going to get the bg5 headlights. Hopefully next paycheck. It's hard to buy the stuff u need and the stuff u want. monkeyposeur
Here is a link to the exact bulbs that I purchased from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OSRAM-SYLVANIA-9003-HB2-H4-X-2-BULBS-60-55W-DUAL-BEAM-HEADLIGHT-REPLACEMENT-OEM-/140680087385?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20c12fc759#ht_4748wt_1163 They don't appear to be coated like the cool blue bulbs I have seen for sale here in the states. I installed them on my second gen before I installed projectors, and then swapped them over to the SS. It is nice white light and very bright. In fact, they are not 'cool blue' at all, lol. Thanks for calling me out on that! I wonder how that got stuck in my head. Probably because I was told not to get them, ha ha. Stupid brain. BAC5.2
I believe those are the equivalent to the XTravisions you can get in the USA, but don't quote me on that.
