Installing oil pressure gauge

Recommended Posts

I hear yah on a budget, but skimping ends up costing more in the end. We've been enthusiasts for a long time and everytime I've skimped on my cars over the years, it has cost me 2 fold down the road.

Hot oil in the passenger compartment can be dangerous... :)

If you know what your doing when you install the gauge with copper line. You should not have any issues. I didn't read the link but I can guess what its about.

I test the items we build here at work at much higher pressures than your oil system would see. I have a clue how to do it safetly. Again not everyone understands how to do it right the first time.

My gauges must know I was talking about them...my EGT freaked out for a min or two driving last night. I like the Defi advance CR...the black dial with the white illumination is spot on to match the gauge cluster...*looks around for $600+*...will find the money somewheres

You are right, a remote line works as well, however, for a DIY, it costs more and is harder to install. Readings are no better or worse using that v sandwich and with a sandwich you can also put an oil temp gauge sensor as well.

I was merely referring to it as another option.

I like the remote mount option because it creates less of a chance for a leaky adapter.

You can also do a pressure gauge isolator to keep the oil outside the cabin. Autometer sells them and I've seen others as well.

VEI Systems make some nice gauges i have them and love them. plus you can two gauges and have 4 readouts....boost & afr one gauge and oil temp/pressure on another. thats my setup

That is pretty sick...I do like having sweeping needles, but being able to have dual LED readouts almost outweighs my love for moving mechanical arms.

I have a 3-gauge pillar and wanted to put AFR in, but didn't want to drill for additional pods or anything (already have boost/oil pres/egt). I'll have to look into these a little more...
