subaruguy509
I keep getting this trouble code, but don't know what it means. I reset the check engine light, but it comes back every once in a while. 42 "Idle switch Abnormal voltage input entered from idle switch Judges OFF operation"

mnstrmech
from alldata... The throttle position sensor contains both a potentiometer (variable resistor) and an idle switch. The ECU uses these signals to adjust air/fuel ratio during acceleration, deceleration and idle. LOCATION The throttle sensor is mounted to the throttle body in the engine compartment. OPERATION The sensor sends the ECU a potentiometer output signal corresponding to throttle valve opening. The idle switch signal only turns "ON" when the throttle is near idle position. basically, your throttle position sensor is crapping out.... subaruguy509
Do you have a picture of where it is? I couldn't seem to find anything similar to it.
mnstrmech
the throttle position sensor, or TPS is located on the throttle body, directly across from where the throttle cables connect to. i dont happen to have a pic though....
