michiganSOOB
my brighton needs new struts and springs and im looking for a reasonably priced solution. I'm not looking to lower my car i either want oem ride height or a slight lift. I have found several strut options so i'm good there but i cannot find coil springs for the life of me so if you guys could please help me find some oem or outback springs that are not priced to the sky it would be great Thanks, Brody
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted July 12, 2012 I Donated Share Posted July 12, 2012 Why do you need new springs? Needing to replace the springs is almost never needed. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." gergeek
In order for my car to have less body roll im upgrading to a stiffer spring rate. You could raise your car using outback springs, or just go to Rock Auto for a new set and get replacement struts there. For a used set check here: LegacyGT.com http://legacygt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/member-classifieds-2004-and-older-103.html Nasioc http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=150 SL-i.net http://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewforum.php?f=22&sid=8ea143a607d5e16d560f652f2a582847 RS25.com http://www.rs25.com/forums/f179-fs-suspension Ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/Suspension-Steering-/33579/i.html
WESTcoast
for best of both worlds I would go with kyb agx struts meant for an outback and find some stock outback springs. The strut differences will give you the lift you want and the agx struts are 10% stiffer than oem so you get you stiffness there. Plus if you know that your struts haven't been changed in a good minute, than most likely this setup will be day and night in ride quality. I Donated broknindarkagain Posted July 12, 2012 I Donated Share Posted July 12, 2012 If you're wanting to use Subaru parts instead of performance aftermarket parts, 02-07 WRX or 04 STI stuff will work great. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." michiganSOOB
It would appear so, i decided i am happy with the current ride height and i'm just going to clean up my springs and see if i'm ok with the new setup.I have a feeling new struts will be enough to get the feel i want. I Donated broknindarkagain Posted July 19, 2012 I Donated Share Posted July 19, 2012 If you want to reduce body roll, you need to start with swaybars. They have the biggest effect on body roll -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." michiganSOOB
If you want to reduce body roll, you need to start with swaybars. They have the biggest effect on body roll im aware of this, but i absolutely needed struts and what i was trying to say is that if im still unhappy with the ride i will get sway bars to furthur lessen body roll
