TXLegacy
Traffic engineers use a method called the 85th percentile to determine speed limits. Sometimes the speed limits are set by the 85th and more often than not, they are posted lower. How fast do you drive?
bluesuby
Tough generalization. There are times when I feel comfortable at 80, and other times when 50 is too much, and I can't wait to get off and take the local roads. Mostly it's a function of who's on the road with me, how much they are liquored up, or how pissed off they are at the outcome of a sporting event. famaya26
65MPh max. The last time my LGT went over that was when my dad drove it after I bought her. He got it up 125mPH on the North Dallas TollWay. I baby my LGT so I tend to drive like a grandma. 40MPH is the limit on the road I take to work

dudeondacouch
This poll should have only two options: 1. At a safe (to myself and others) and reasonable speed, taking into primary consideration the other motorists (in both amount and action,) and into secondary consideration the posted limit. 2. Like a jerkoff.
bigjweb
I usually drive as fast as I think I can get away with. And that depends on which state i'm in. In Colorado it's usually 10 to 15 over, back home (Cali) I drive with the flow of traffic in the fast line (80 to 90 on the highway). Simply love California driving. BoozeRS05
So if the posted limit is 150 would you do 160? LOL:lol: I should have said- consistently 10mph over the posted limit, not to exceed 85mph. YourConfused
I've recently have been pulled over for going 2mph and then for going 3mph. I try to do the posted speed, but these clowns around here do whatever they want. 2mph? Really?
Mega Users seabass07 Posted July 5, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted July 5, 2012 I hope you didn't pay for that ticket. Take them to court and the judge will dismiss them, unless it was a school zone.
bigjweb
I hope you didn't pay for that ticket. Take them to court and the judge will dismiss them, unless it was a school zone. 2 or 3 mph over, while petty, is still over the maximum speed limit. Everybody always says up to 5 over and your good, but I have yet to see that law.
muteturkey
In my parts, it's an unspoken rule that you are safe up to 10mph over. I've watched an officer clock me at 7 or 8 over and I didn't get a ticket. I say that and I bet I'll get pulled over going 1 mph hour.
Mega Users seabass07 Posted July 6, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted July 6, 2012 So you didn't take it to court? I got a ticket for 8 over and the judge rolled his eyes mumbled something about his time being wasted and dismissed it. I guess it depends on where you live.
