question about fluid

i know this has been covered before but i just want a straight answer because i really dont wanna mess anythign up. i have an 05 legacy 4door sedan which is an automatic and it has over 130,000 miles on it . as far as i know the transmission fluid has never been changed the only fluid im positive about actually is the engine oil. everything else is questionable. so anyway last two times i have gotten my oil changed they said my transmission fluid looked a little bit dirty so i bought a filter from advance and then got to looking and the manual says it takes the genuine subaru atf or equivilent . ive read at alot of places and different people seem to use different things. im on a tight budget and want to get this fixed soon hopefully. so what type of fluid would be best to use and also i read that the filter you can get at like an auto parts store is different from the factory one is there any truth to this? thanks

The guy's at the auto parts store should be able to sell you the correct tranny fluid.

You will also want to replace the 75w-90 in the front diff and rear diff.

Call the guy's at Fred Beans a vendor in the Vendor link at the top of the forum. They can take care of what you need.
