I'll be lifting my Outback this week or next week. I'm thinking of just throwing 2 inch spacers above the struts.

Plastic is MUCH easier to work with, but I'm unsure of how well it will hold up.

Thoughts?

Yes, here they are.

I might swing by sometime over the next week Tom. I'm sure if the two of us sit down and give it a little thought it can easily be done.

End result will be something similar to this. I don't know how comfortable I am using plastic since I do get pretty serious on the trails. I would just feel safer with metal.

I would rather just not worry about them breaking. If your suspension fails while you're on flat level ground, thats just fine. Its easy to jack it up and do repairs. But if something goes wrong while you're crawling through a bunch of big rocks, or you're 2 feet deep in water, or you're on an unlevel road....it makes repairs dangerous if not impossible to do where you're at.

The Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) plastic is more than strong enough for this application. It's not cheap however. Sometimes you can find old food prep tables in the junk yard that have 1" or 1.25" thick tops made of this material.

I have hole saws that will do the inside circles and the mill can do the rest.
