SevenNukes1
Hey guys, Just replaced the belt, and all pulleys. Everything was fine except I noticed a small difference when putting in the new idler gear. The old one stuck out about 1/16" more than the new one. This means the belt doesn't line up perfectly with the gear like it does with all the other elements. Picture is attached. Everything is back together, car runs fine, but wanted to post a picture and get your opinions on whether or not I should worry about it.
Max Capacity
I'd put a washer behind that to move it out. But you say the car is running now. I think you'll be fine. That is there just to route the belt, it's not like it's driving the belt. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). SevenNukes1
Thanks guys, I'm just a little paranoid. I know when the timing belt goes the engine can destroy itself. Don't want to be dealing with that repair bill anytime in the near future.
