10DollaOffCupon
So this past week I have been fighting with the struts on my 97 outback, (bottom knuckle bolt on all 4 was WAY to tight) finally got it done. Then I noticed that there is a horrific notice coming from the front 2. When I had it aligned, they told me my bearing plates were bad. I replaced these with brand new parts. But the noise remains. It only happens when I turn the wheel. Is this something that will go away when I have the alignment redone?

whitetiger
assuming you did the struts yourself and disassembled them. make sure that when you put the upper spring perch on, that its oriented right. if it isnt, i can hit an rub in ways in the strut tower and make awful noises. ive seen this happen on 4th gens with people who did their own springs. 10DollaOffCupon
Been busy working in school. "terrible noise" was a banging when I turned the wheels. My father in law took it somewhere and had it repaired but won't tell me what it was....
