maniaxzero
Any of you got any brilliant ideas for getting a stuck wheel lock out of my 21mm socket? (I don't have a bench vice) Incase you wondering how i got it stuck. I lost the wheel lock key and had to hammer a 21mm socket onto the wheel lock. Got it out easily but now the problem is getting the wheel lock out of my socket so i can re-use the socket.. already tried throwing it on the ground hard, tried hammer and chisel, tried hitting with a chisel on the ground, tried putting it between 2 bricks and hammer it broke the brick, tried pb blaster, nothing worked http://i.imgur.com/eSynf.jpg
pillboy
Before you wreck something more expensive, just go buy another socket. It is still ugly.

BAC5.2
Don't spend money on a vice that doesn't bolt to your workbench using 4 bolts. And when you install it, use BIG fender washers under the nuts on the bottom, and torque the shit out of it. reborngarcia1985
if you have to go out and buy 1. I would go with this one. http://www.harborfreight.com/3-inch-swivel-vise-7421.html
DugsSin
Just thread it back onto the stud then tap the socket lightly up & down, left & right. Beat it too hard and you'll have a bent stud too.
pillboy
Wouldn't it have been easier to get another wheel lock key? It is still ugly.
chucky_z
PB blast this, then heat up just the socket and throw it against something really hard. you'll either break the socket and the nut will come out, or the nut will come out and the socket will be OK. Either way, you're going to break that socket doing that. Go to autozone or something and get some wheel lock removal tools, I believe this is a set of left-hand sockets and a reverse drill looking thing. maniaxzero
Thanks for the help guys! I finally got it out!! I had to put it back on the wheel stud with the wheel off the hub. Heat it up with a heat gun and banged the shit out of it with a hammer. What a !@#$%^. Well at least for future reference this is how i got it out. I repeated the process with the other 3 wheel locks so I know for sure it works just takes a good beating with the hammer after you bolt it back on. I then went to sears and got me a new 21mm socket under warranty. So all is good in the hood! http://i.imgur.com/jc16z.jpg
