Zekes05GT
Hello all... So my turbo went. Minimal collateral damage (turbo vanes scored the inside of the housing, no further debris). I had the turbo replaced, and all was fine. I was on the highway and put my foot down to pass a car and heard a metallic slapping sound that sounded like it was originating almost directly below my driver seat. No boost until I laid off the throttle and then it hooked back up. Only CEL is "exhaust gas temp too high". Any thoughts or suggestions? Wastegate? Is it prematurely dumping boost? I'm not intimately familiar with the exhaust system on this car so I'm not sure why I'm hearing a noise below the car versus the engine bay. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! THANK YOU!!
