gergeek
Any ideas of what can be used to cover the holes up which are left over from removing the lgt spoiler?
RexTuner1204
I think there's five holes in the trunk after you take the wing off, I used plastic clips to cover the holes when I had my wing off for a few weeks no leaks or anything.
10DollaOffCupon
Bondo.
WESTcoast
I used vinyl to cover them up, its waterproof and unnoticeable when it's color matched.
taylormac1993
I'd recommend using bondo and painting or vinyl wrapping it. You might be able to use plumber's putty or something, but it would probably be cheaper to use bondo anyway.
sdavidson7014
they sell these hard plastic/rubber plugs at lowes or home depot that sit pretty flush, could be used as a temporary solution until you can weld/fill/paint it.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 8, 2012 I Donated Share Posted May 8, 2012 Why do you want to take the wing off? Will you sell it to me? -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." TexasLegacy2.5GT
I hate the wing too! It's so dated looking. The car's lines look better with either a small flush wing or wingless! Even on my 98' SC300 the wing looks gigantic like something Versache designed. My plan is to eventually get rid of it and Di Noc carbon fiber wrap the trunk to cover the holes. http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/456FCDAA.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/383161D1.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/B7985701.jpg
iSooby
That car is BEAUTIFUL!^ I'm goin for the same look eventually only white with black wheels. You're stance is perfect. I love it. But yeah bondo is the way to go. Unless you can find some who has a wingless trunk that matches.
sdavidson7014
bondo is junk..dont use that if you want to go the body filler route, evercoat makes a pretty decent product in the same price range.
monkeyposeur
Bondo works only if you grind down to the bare metal. It likes deep scratches to adhere well. Glazing compound is a great option for small holes. Sand the areas you want to fill with 80 grit, then apply glazing coat. Overfilling is a good idea as you will be sanding it down anyway. Sand again with a block and fill. Repeat if necessary. Prime it and spray some guide coat on there. Sand again. When it looks good, prime again, and then shoot the whole trunk if you want it to look really clean. edit: I love the wing. As far as looking dated, I guess I am dated, lol. gergeek
haha it will cost more to ship my wing to you than what you are paying for it......I was just going to remove it, and sell it with the car later on. I figured i would have less drag on the highway, and cosmetically looks better if i took it off. Just have to replace the top light with one from a baseline sedan........i have some other stuff i have to get done on my car this weekend , but i might remove it this weekend.
