apexjapan
Just a fun little progression of recovering a muffler tip from long burnt plastic, using tools at hand. They've been sitting around for a while, so decided to have a go at it. All of this would be fairly easy if you had a big buffing wheel designed for this sort of thing. This is for all those people that don't. yeah, pretty ugly. http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_001.jpg Heat gun set to Obliviate to soften it up a bit. It and a box knife blade for getting the major stuff off first. http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_002.jpg After trying a variety of other chemical methods, it got down to doing it the hard way. http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_003.jpg Now for the fun part... http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_004.jpg A lot of polishing via what was on hand. Having all the proper equipment (big buffers) would help. Used a simple (small) dremel buffer with some buffing compound. http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_005.jpg And then the final touch by hand. http://www.avoturboworld.com/images/muffler/muffler_fix_006.jpg Regards, Paul Hansen http://www.avoturboworld.com http://www.facebook.com/avoturboworld

apexjapan
I did, it didn't. I think in most cases it will, this was a bit on the extreme recovery side. Regards, Paul Hansen
