GEE-OTTO
ok so I'm unable to remove the bolts right this second, but I found that apparently I bottomed out and cracked the plastic shit under the car plus it distorted the heat shield ever sl slightly so that's why it's rattling. I found that the rattle is where the joint of the shield meets at the very first part when it starts to the rear of the car....pics to come, but now my question is, is there any "temporary" fix with some sort of rubber to wedge between the two at the joint? any heat resistant material that isn't metal, for obvious reasons? legacyshawn
Okay over the weekend I spent $50 dollars fixing this thing. First off I took off all the bolts off the header. Bought some thermal wrap and tightly wrapped the header and placed little pieces between all the flanges on the heat shield tubing. Then I used fresh nuts and bolts with a lock washer on the bolt side to prevent slipping (made it a lottttt easier to put together). Booom done! now it'll prevent the rattle and maybe even keep things cooler under the hood… but who knows.
