Stoptech Pads or Centric posi-quiet ceramic?

I am not sure which pads I should get.

I drive spirited, sometimes taking hard stops from 70+

I plan on getting Centric Premium Blanks, and I've pretty much narrowed my pad choices down to the posi-quiet ceramics and the stoptech street performance.

Which one would you go with and why? I was leaning towards the posi-quiet because of the really high anti-dust rating and the quietness, because I do drive 50 miles per day to and from work, but If the stoptech are a large increase in performance I might want to go that way just to make sure I am able to stop better.

dont have experience with the stoptechs, but i have the posi quiets on my outback and they are good for a DD pad tat can take some beating. you can overheat them if you very high speed late braking, but they can take some spirited driving. Def better than stock and great cold weather response. stoptechs would probably be more performance oriented but for the price, the posi quiets couldn't be beat.

I'd heard too many good reviews of the Stoptech pad to not try them with my Brembo setup.

I drive 100mi/day (50 miles each way to/from work).

I would go with the Stoptechs. The posi-quiet are generic auto part store style pads. I think any enthusiast needs at least the Stoptechs. Let us know if we can quote you for a set.

How is the dust?

No idea. Haven't done the install yet.

I got them based mostly on a discussion I had with AZP. They seem like the best enthusiast commuter pad.

Have been on stoptechs/centric blanks for over a year. nothing better is even remotely in the price range (the only other performance street pad I would consider is the Ferodo DS2500)

great bite hot and cold, no noise, can handle a lot of heat- MOT is around 12-1300F

as braking performance goes up so does dusting. there's no way around it. My wheels are spraypainted black so I can't really give an opinion on that aspect anyway.

I just swapped ap racing rotors, and stoptech pads for centric carbon rotors with stoptech pads. So far awesome. Nice smooth bite. This is my 2nd set of stoptech pads. Much better the hawks. Only complaint is dusty. Rims get dirty in about 2 weeks.

I really liked my StopTechs once I got them. They felt sooo much better then the crappy stock brake pads. However, the dust A LOT and mines are starting to squeak a lot for some reason. Might be the rotor, im not sure yet. These pads were definitely worth getting to me, even though they have a few set backs.

love my stoptechs for the price and better then oem

dust like crazy, 40 miles on the fwy and theres a noticeable layer of brake dust on the rims. Always forget what my purple rims look like:lol: lucky to wash once a month:lol:

never lubed the pads and only squeal at low speeds with little brake pressure

5eat downshift rev match:)

Powder coated wheels: completed:)

I have the same set up that your looking at, Centric premium blanks (mine are the Cryo version from IIR, vender on here) with stoptech pads, once you bed them it I would say the performance is pretty impressive, but yes very dusty

How is the dust?

They dust like a mother-f'er. I sold mine after 3 months of use, becuase I was tired of cleaning my damn rims every other day. Other than that, the pads worked great.

My wife's balls are delicious.

I love mine. Much better than stock, and never any worries about not being able to stop when the pads are cold.

My oem pads were especially terrible after a car wash, but these are much better.

As stated previously yes they do dust, but you have to pay to play. That's the trade off.

Supposedly Stoptech started making these pads due to trouble getting Axxis Ultimates for their BBKs. From what I was told they are very similar to the Ultimates which at the time weren't being offered for both front and rears......think it was the rears they didn't make.

My brake dust wasnt too bad for the first couple K miles then I did a bed in process and the performance went through the roof as well as the dust :spin::wub: but its ok w/ my hyper black rims, they go from shiny black/crome look to just black till I wash them

I love my stoptech pads. Can't comment on the dust because I rarely wash the car. I only have them on the front and advance pads on the rear and I can tell you the fronts are definitely stronger. Feel great though, if you're light on them they are easy but push them in just a tad more to feel the difference.

I can't say the dust will really bother me. I have the dustiest pads in the world up front right now, so I doubt I'll even notice.

Dang, that sucks. I ordered them already, I'll have to see how bad they really are on my car.

Don't get me wrong, they are excellent pads for the streets. I'm just anal keeping my car clean.

My wife's balls are delicious.
