CloudConnects
Hey, my 01 Legacy motor needs to be replaced, so I'm buying an 00 Legcay motor for it. Im planning to rip out the old motor and swap the long block, and then put the motor back in. Im wondering what im going to need to do this? Intake manifold gaskets? Exhaust manifold gaskets? anything else that i wont be able to reruse when I do this swap, I live 250km from anywhere im going to be able to go to get parts so i need to pick everything up beforehand. Any other notes with the swap?? The motor coming out is an EJ251 SOHC and the one going in is a EJ252 SOHC, as far as I know this should work no problem. The 252 just had updated gaskets to resolve issues with the 251. Do a search for T belt replace and everything listed should be done. Reseal the baffle plate, check the screws on the back of the oil pump. Make sure the replacement HG's are MLS type. Fel pro for one, makes good gasket sets. O.
