luvmylegacy98
i lost the keys to my car (98 legacy gt) and its currently sitting at the public library. i put one of those automatic starters on it that shuts it off if you step on the brake without the key in the ignition so i cut the wire to the brake input so that it will stay on and i can shift it out of park but the steering wheel wont move without the key. how do i get around that so that i can drive the car with just the auto start? and how much would it cost me to get a new key made for it? i dont have a extra
jamesm113
~$10 at your dealer. bring your ID and the car's registration
Diagtech
Breaking the steering lock can be a pain in the ass. You are probably going to have to remove the ignition cylinder in order to release the steering lock. Best option is have a key made, it will more than likely cost less in the end. No immobilzer to worry about, so no key programming.
stevenva
~$10 at your dealer. bring your ID and the car's registration +100 on that. You would have to be a desperate fool to follow through with the destruction of the steering columns wheel lock device. Don't do it.
