trevorno
Looking at replacing my clutch while the engine's out... Any opinions on a good clutch brand? Looking for a good mix of performance/price. Haven't done this before, so I'm not even sure if I should bother with any kind of "performance" clutch. As always, I appreciate the advice... Legacy Wagon
I've heard that a lot of performance clutches wont resurface themselves like OEM will if you end up riding it too hard...which is good to know if you plan on letting anyone else drive your car. BAC5.2
I've heard that a lot of performance clutches wont resurface themselves like OEM will if you end up riding it too hard...which is good to know if you plan on letting anyone else drive your car. That does not make sense. Most "stage 1" type clutches are just a stiffer pressure plate with a standard disc. Any organic clutch will not remain permanently glazed. Legacy Wagon
Well, there you have it then. And to restate the earlier mention statment...I've heard of some of the more performance oriented clutches glazing over.
sqc151
you have a 1990 legacy, go with factory oem (which will brobly be your best bet and will last the longest), wrx clutch (if you wanna feel you did an upgrade), or exedy oem replacement (if you like the dashboard shutter)... if your not pushing high hp numbers, keep the clutch as stock as possible. Legacy Wagon
Stock's a good choice. They last a long time and it's better if anyone else tries to drive your car.
