Mega Users paintpollz Posted February 19, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted February 19, 2012 so if your compression is subpar are you gonna pull the motor? "Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left."

HNRB4LGT
yea but I've put 47k miles on it since then. Most of its life was on stage 2. Yeah, to answer your question, if the compression is test isn't to par, I will rebuild the engine. HNRB4LGT
Still no compression test yet. My turbo arrived yesterday. ITS FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL! I've also ordered a grimmspeed ebcs. Has anyone every had any experience using an ebcs in conjunction with a mbc? For the last time, my car is not a Camry
joeleodee
^I will be running that hybrid boost control setup as soon as my tuner is ready to finish the tune on my car. I've plumbed it out, but for now, I just bypassed the mbc until tune time. I'll keep my thread posted as things get updated.
Legend
Looks good, OP. I'm curious about that turbo for my next build. Why are you using a MBC? Will this be dyno'd? Dragraced? Love to see both (airboys and butt dyno claims don't do much for me, even if laced with lots of exclamation points). I'd be interested in seeing a 4th-gear boost log also once finished (wanna see if the turbo is too laggy for me). HNRB4LGT
It will be dyno tuned and the graphs will be posted. I want an all around car. One good for drag racing, road racing, and street driving. I have an MBC mostly because it was given to me from a friend BNIB. Ive heard that MBCs give you better response over an EBCS, and a hybrid system(MBC with EBCS) is the best of both worlds. I'll have the responsiveness of a MBC while having the safety and reliability of an EBCS For the last time, my car is not a Camry
HNRB4LGT
So just realized that the oil leak I've had is coming from the oil/avcs feed line. P&L steel braided line ordered. For the last time, my car is not a Camry

HNRB4LGT
Today I decided to get the most dangerous part of the build out of the way and install the new fuel pump. I also managed to also remove my stock inlet pipe and put on the 2 passenger side injectors. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0245.jpg So I don't know if anyone removed the rear seat before because I haven't. The seat literally pulls out. Its not bolted on what so ever. In order to pull the seat out, I pulled the front part of the seat first. It might not feel like its going to budge but it will with a snap. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0246.jpg heres the upper pump assembly and the new DW 65c pump. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0247.jpg Heres the stock pump next to the 65c. It was a PITA to remove the stock pump from the housing. I used 2 small flat head screwdrivers to pry away the tabs to free the pump. Just incase, I pulled up a video from youtube to walk me through the removal and install of the pump [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2hu9ioy0FQ]2009 Subaru WRX Walbro fuel pump Install 1 of 2 - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkg7oxUip14]2009 Subaru WRX Walbro fuel pump install 2 of 2 - YouTube[/ame] http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0251.jpg This bracket gave me the biggest headache ever. its held on by 4 bolts but one of the bolts is at the oddest angle ever. I used a 1/4 drive and an extension and finally got it out. I will be sure to leave this bracket off. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0249.jpg Here is a comparison between the stock injector and the DW850cc. The 850's orifice is noticeably bigger. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0250.jpg This is the turbo/avcs oil feed line. Its leaking and it will be replaced with a steel braided P&L line. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/dubs424/IMAG0254.jpg Heres the stock inlet pipe next to the perrin v2 inlet pipe. The stock inlet pipe was a pain to remove. I removed the intake manifold and the boost solenoid bracket so I could get a bit more room to move around. The biggest pain of the removal was the BOV tube. I had to use an long needle nose to get that clamp off. Well thats pretty much it for today. I still haven't gotten a compression gauge yet. I'll be sure to get it done after I have all the oil lines connected. For the last time, my car is not a Camry

bmx045
HNR, when you took your stock injectors out, did the front 2 have upper orings on them? my stockers didnt have top orings on cyl 1 and 2, and they werent stuck in the rail, or dropped. no idea why, they werent leaking though. anyway, when i put my dw850's in i used all orings. HNRB4LGT
yeah and, make sure orings were not stuck up in the rail either! Hey so after checking today, there were o-rings on all the injectors. For the last time, my car is not a Camry
HNRB4LGT
so, I got the other side injectors in. The protective bracket or whatever its called is just as much of a pain to get off as the passenger side. I'll be leaving that side off also. It also made it easier to remove the TGV motor to access the bolt located furthest to the firewall. After removing the bracket, install of the injectors are as straight forward as the passenger side. 2 bolts, lift the fuel rail etc. Now on to the inlet pipe. Forget all the pain of trying to shoe horn the new inlet pipe in under the intake manifold. The intake manifold is coming off.
