I plastidipped my rims a few weeks back and i have noticed that rubbing it a little to hard with a towel can cause the paint to start to peal a little. has anyone else had any issues with this or problems with a car wash?

how many coats did you use, because like Drift Motion said, prolly not enough, or thick enough maybe. Mine has been on there for almost 6 months now and it still looks good, no peeling and i scrub it to get it clean...

Hey, I came across this car on the street dipped from head to toe. The owner of the car actually works for a Plasti Dip company here in Chicago. He said their site was DIPPEDCARS.com so I checked it out and it looks pretty sweet, seems like they have some experience and good prices too plus they'll let you pick up from them so you don't have to pay crazy shipping costs.

Dipped 2 wheels today, doing the other 2 tomorrow. 3 coats of black and 4 silver metalizer. Have center cap overlays coming in from Doc as well!

Edit: Checked on the wheels this morning and the 3 coats of metalizer still looked pretty black to me in different light, so I added a heavy 4th and 5th coat.

Decided to add more layers of metalizer because the stock 5 spokes are relatively flat, and with less metal flake they them look dark )low reflectiveness.) With multi-spoke wheels (page 2) you may be able to get away with less layers since there are more curves.

3 layers of black Plasti-dip, 5 coats of silver metalizer preview:

So I am new to this plasti-dip thing but I would love to black out the chrome on my grill... Does plasti-dip just peel off without damaging the underlying surface when you want to remove it? What do you have to do to prep the area? Just clean well? It would be worth trying if it is possible to just peel it off if I decide I don't want it anymore or don't like it, but I don't want to risk any damage to the grill...
