jri
Hi group, I am trying to diagnose a P2096, Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1 on my stock 2005 Outback 2.5i. I have cleared the code a few times, and it keeps coming back after a day or two. I've programmed my Scan Gauge to show several parameters, results as follows: O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 - No Reading O2 Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 - No Reading O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Numbers Range O2 Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 2 - Numbers Range Note, Bank 1 & 2 Sensor #2 give different numbers. Shouldn't both banks be reporting simillar numbers? A/F Ratio Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Usually reads 13 - 15 A/F Ratio Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Usually reads 13 - 15 Both A/F sensors read very close to each other Any suggestions? The car also threw a P0051 recently, H 02s heater circuit B2 S1 fault. This has not come back yet after I cleared it last week. Any ideas? Faulty O2 sensor or exhaust leak? Thanks, John. GEE-OTTO
Have you replaced the O2 sensor lately ? Also have you checked the cat to see if it is clogged? No reading would suggest a foul sensor or two
jri
Thanks Gee-Otto, Still have the original o2 sensors, and 131,000 miles... The catalytic converters were replaced at 80,000 under a TSB, so hopefully they are still good. I think the "no reading", sensors could just be the way I programmed the ScanGauge. How many sensors does this car have in total? (California Emissions model from New York State) John.
